Some cats just show up. Others find you when you need them most. That was Socks—a one-year-old sweetheart who arrived on his foster parents’ porch cold, scared, and looking like he’d already been through too much for such a young boy. He had a collar with no tag stuck around his neck, suggesting that he was lost or abandoned by a former owner. Now safe, warm, and fully vetted, he’s ready for the only thing he’s been missing all along: a forever home.
Since his foster parents brought him inside, Socks has transformed from a shy little man into a big affectionate goofball. He adores his people, loves attention, and is always down for a cuddle or a little play session. He’s neutered, microchipped, up to date on his vaccines, and dewormed—basically packed and ready to go home.
Socks is FIV+, but as long as his future owners keep an eye on his health, he’ll live a long and happy life. FIV is only spread between cats by deep bite wounds (not a playful chomp or a grooming bite), and humans and dogs cannot contract it. With a proper introduction, he can live safely with other cats. His roommate Frank — a St. Francis alum — can confirm that he’s a delight.
This sweet boy deserves the world, and his foster parents are determined to give it to him.
Ok with other cats: Yes, but needs to be adopted with other friendly cats to avoid FIV transmission
Ok with dogs: unknown
Ok with children: unknown
Socks has been fixed, microchipped, dewormed, and received all age-appropriate vaccinations.
